Arizona Peace Trail – Day 5 – Havasu to Kingman

Hi folks!

Dave and Janice back with Day 5 of our 7-day, 6 night, 750+ mile Arizona Peace Trail adventure with our friend Michel.

The AZPT is an off highway vehicle trail in Western Arizona, running between Yuma in the south and Bullhead City to the north. The trail features a variety of recreation opportunities for off-roading enthusiasts. The trail loops through Yuma, La Paz, and Mojave counties.

It was a cold start to the day after spending the night in a motel in Lake Havasu City. We loaded up and hit the road fairly early for what would be a 191 km / 119 mile ride. We started off with a quick stop for fuel and then a drive across the historic London Bridge. A few miles of pavement later we were on the trails.

We checked out an abandoned gold mine, some abandoned railroad track and a few other “interesting”, shall we say, places along the way. Let’s just say we’ve never happened upon a stripper pole in the desert before.

The last section of offroad trails took us up to the Secret Pass Overlook. The views up there were magnificent – the best of the trip by far – as were the ridge trails beyond the overlook.
