We used to use a rigid 5th wheel hitch that came with our truck, but when we bought our new trailer we decided to go with an air ride hitch seeing as we knew we were going to be living and traveling full time in the trailer. The tires on our trailer run at 110 PSI. Finding a place that has an air pump that goes that high is not all that easy. Regular gas stations don’t. So we installed an onboard air compressor system in our truck. It makes it a snap to adjust tire pressures regularly. If you’re like me, unless something is easy to do it doesn’t get done as often.
