Mystery Tour – Murals, Old Train Bridge, Abandoned Lime Kiln

Hi there!

Dave and Janice back with you as we continue on our Mystery Tour that our daughter put together for us. She gave us a stack of envelopes that we were to open in order. Each envelope told us where to go, and what to look for when we got there. We had no idea where we were going before we opened each envelope in turn.

In this video we make two aditional side-stops on our way to our first “main attraction”. The first is an old steel trestle bridge that was built around 1926. Trains no longer cross the bridge but it is now part of a vast network of multi-use rail trails.

Next we take you to an old abandoned lime kiln located off the beaten path up an old dirt road. Taking care not to disturb anything, we explore the old site and try to figure out how it worked, not having any knowledge of lime kilns or their operation. Very interesting stuff!

Finally we get to Pembroke and give you a look at about 30 or so murals that decorate the town. One of them stretches an entire city block! The murals in general tell the story of Pembroke, from its founding back in the 1800s as a lumber and timber village to the 2000s. Amazing artistry! Check it out!

In the next video we will open up the second envelope and see where we go to next.

Please like, subscribe and give us a thumbs up on YouTube. It really does help us (and our channel) immensely. Also, share a link to this video with anyone you think might enjoy it.

Thanks for joining us, and thanks to our daughter for going through all the effort to put the mystery tour package together for us. We had a blast!
