Hi folks. Dave and Janice back with you.
In this video we take you to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument which is located literally as far south as you can go in Arizona.
We’ve visited the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument two times now.
This year we drove along Puerto Blanco Drive, which is a 41 mile long mostly gravel road. Part of it goes right alongside the Mexican border wall. It’s mostly one-way so once you start along it your are committed to finishing it. We used Puerto Blanco Drive to access Dripping Springs Mine. It was nothing to write home about, to be honest. But the scenery was pretty cool and there are several different kinds of cactus to enjoy along the way. Just don’t touch them! Ask me how I know this 🙂
Two years ago we rode down to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument from Gila Bend, AZ on our Harleys and took them “off roading” along the Ajo Mountain Drive. We’ve included that trip at the end of this video. It’s the baby brother to Puerto Blanco Drive at only 21 miles long. The scenery is more spectacular, though, in our opinion so if you can only do one of these two roads, this is the one we would recommend.
Anyway, let us know what you think of our video. Comments, good or bad, help us out immensely. We read and appreciate every one of them.
Thanks for joining us.
